I started photographing in the 1970's beginning with my Nikon F2 cameras. Originally my interest was focused in landscape photography of the Sierra Nevada's, Lake Tahoe and Northern California areas. Shortly thereafter, I entered school and studied photography at Yuba College taking classes starting with Black / White and progressing into advanced courses, lab and studio work. Delving into landscape imagery, as advanced students we were encouraged to purchase equipment more suited for nature/landscape photography. Sooooo......selling my beloved Porsche 924 I had a Wisner Traditional 4 x 5 camera made. Adding Nikon glass and all the accessories, I was set to follow the footsteps of the photography greats I learned about in College.  While in school I accepted an internship with the local newspaper The Appeal Democrat, giving me the opportunity to photograph professional sports teams such as the Sacramento Kings. Studying with a great instructor, Richard Murai, www.richardmurai.com, who lit a flame under my behind was the driving force in what is now my 4th decade immersed in my love of photography. I have traveled extensively throughout the western United States, and eventually abroad to Ireland and England. And now, we live in Lakeside, Montana....a photographers paradise. In 2008 we developed a new business by the name of American Vision Photography. As a wholesale site we sell photography to several types of businesses, everything from specialty stores to Super Markets. Our Photography Note Cards and large format Canvas Prints are sold primarily in 4 Western States, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Idaho. Eventually moving to Montana with my wife Julie, our daughter Alexandra, and our son Austin, I enjoy outdoor photography opportunities near our home here in Montana... as well as Glacier National and Yellowstone National Parks.
